Campingplatz Hetzingen – your camping in the Eifel

Welcome to Campingplatz Hetzingen in Nideggen. Here you can spend your holiday in the Eifel, right by the Eifel National Park and the river Rur. With us you find nature, peace and quiet, and many things to do. We speak German, Dutch and English – and here everyone is on first-name terms (#GernePerDu).

Location: right in the middle of nature and fun

Our site lies by the river Rur. You reach the Eifel National Park quickly, as well as hiking trails and cycle paths. Nice places to visit, beaches and thermal baths are close by too.

Pitches: choose what fits you

We have different kinds of pitches. So you find exactly the right spot.

• Standard pitches: For tent, caravan or motorhome.
• Comfort pitches: More space. Most have a water and waste-water connection.
• Rur pitches (premium): Right by the river. Fully equipped.
• Motorhome pitches: For a flexible arrival.
• Tent pitches: In different sizes.

All pitches are marked out and have electricity.

Rental accommodations: arrive and feel at home

You camp without your own vehicle? Then book an accommodation:

• Chalets & lodges: Cosy, often with a kitchen-living room, bathroom, sometimes a washing machine/dryer and a terrace – for example Chalet #1021, #1022 or the Rurufer Lodge with a view of the Rur.
• Mobile homes: For couples, families or friends.
• Caravans: Ready and fully furnished.
• Sleeping barrels: Especially close to nature, some right by the river.
• Romantic hut: Small, lovely, enjoy it as a couple.

Many accommodations have Wi-Fi, heating, TV, a kitchen or a kitchenette. Dogs are allowed in some of them.

Sanitary facilities: clean, modern and step-free

Cleanliness is important to us. The sanitary facilities are cleaned every day. There are two buildings with step-free access, a step-free shower, wash-up kitchens, a baby-changing room and a place to empty chemical toilets. You also find cooking facilities, a laundry room (via the WeWash app) and a sauna with a lounge and a view of Nideggen Castle.

If something is missing, please tell us – that way we get even better.

Dogs: warmly welcome

Dogs are welcome with us. Please keep your dog on a lead. There are areas for dog walks and tips for getting along well together. Dogs are allowed in several accommodations – it is noted at each one.

Events & activities: experience more

On and around the site there are events for young and old. One highlight: for some partner events we pay the costs for our campers (you need to sign up at reception). We work together with local event partners – for example Wildpark Schmidt.

Experience the Eifel: many places close by

Thermal baths, pools, lakes, hiking trails and more – for example: Therme Euskirchen, Eifel-Therme Mechernich, Monte Mare Kreuzau, Rurbad Düren, Eschauel beach and lovely outdoor pools. From us you get there fast.

Our prices are dynamic. They adjust to availability and demand – sometimes up, sometimes down. That way the prices stay fair and up to date.

Based on guest reviews, we have already been named the “friendliest campsite in Europe”. Behind the site there is a dedicated team led by Kirsten and Gereon Diart (since 01/01/2020).

Travelling sustainably

Please help: use a bike or public transport, follow the rules in protected areas, and offset the CO₂ of your journey there and back. That way we protect the nature of the Eifel together.
