Excursions – frequently asked questions
How far is the Rursee from the campsite?
The Rursee is only around 15 minutes’ drive away – it’s about 10 km to the Badestrand Eschauel and roughly 12 km to the Rurseeschifffahrt. Ideal for swimming, hiking and a boat trip across the Rurtalsperre.
Is the campsite next to the Nationalpark Eifel?
Yes, the site lies right on the edge of the Nationalpark Eifel. Hiking and cycling trails start practically on the doorstep – along the Rur and into the Eifel forests.
What excursion destinations are nearby?
Nideggen with its castle (2 km), Heimbach (13 km), the Rursee, Monschau (25 km) as well as thermal baths, wildlife and leisure parks in the region – much of it reachable in 15 to 30 minutes.
Can you hike and cycle straight from the campsite?
Yes, hiking and cycling trails run right past the site, among them along the Rur. That way you start your tours into the Eifel conveniently without a car.
