Camping with a dog: tips for a relaxed holiday

Your dog is part of the family – and of course comes along on holiday. With a little preparation, camping with a dog is relaxed for two-legged and four-legged guests alike.
The right preparation
Pack the vaccination record, a lead, plenty of water and a bowl, the familiar basket or a blanket, and enough food for the whole trip. A familiar toy helps your dog settle into the new surroundings more quickly.
Being considerate on site
Dogs usually have to be kept on a lead on the campsite. Always pick up after your dog and mind the quiet hours – that keeps the atmosphere pleasant for everyone. Don't leave your dog alone barking for long periods.
Camping with a dog in the Eifel
Around the Rur and in the Eifel National Park there are wonderful hiking and cycling trails for long walks. At Campingplatz Hetzingen dogs are warmly welcome: there's a dedicated dog shower, walking paths right by the Rur and twelve dog-friendly accommodations if you arrive without your own tent or caravan.
