Fire brigade drill at the campsite – what an operation!

On Wednesday, 23 September 2026, the time had come: the volunteer fire brigade of the town of Nideggen rehearsed a real emergency at Campingplatz Hetzingen – and we captured it all on video.

Why? So that the crews don't lose a single second in an emergency: they got to know the access routes on the site, practised drawing extinguishing water directly from the Rur and trained what needs special attention here. Because when there is a fire, every minute counts – a fast, targeted attack stops a vehicle fire from spreading to the neighbours.

For us as operators it was more than just a drill: it showed that we take fire safety on our site seriously – and we are very proud to have such a reliable partner as the Nideggen fire brigade at our side.

And for our campers it was a real highlight: many were there live as the fire engine, hoses and full protective gear went into action. The scene was our “Kohlrabifeld” at the far end of the site. Anyone who was hungry afterwards could refuel at the Hetzinger Stüffgen restaurant.

You can see how realistic the firefighting and rescue operation was in the video on our Facebook page.

A big thank you to the Nideggen fire brigade for their strong commitment and to all the guests who came along!
